Young Carers Action Day 2025 falls on Wednesday 12th March and this year’s theme is "Give Me A Break", focusing on the importance of rest and respite for young carers.

To celebrate Young Carers Action Day our Young Carers Notts service now offers young carers living in Nottinghamshire and the City of Nottingham free travel cards.

Travel cards covering local bus and tram travel are available to any young carer aged up to 19. Travel cards are administered by Young Carers Notts in partnership with Nottinghamshire County Council and Nottingham City Council.

To apply for free travel, young carers must be registered with our Young Carers Notts service. Full details can be found at www.youngcarersnotts.co.uk/travelcards

In Herefordshire there is a Games and Pizza Night which has been organised by Herefordshire Young and Young Adult Carers. After asking the local young carers what they wanted to do to celebrate the day, the most popular answer was to just hang out and enjoy some food and games!
