Carers Rights Day Highlights 2024 Last week (21st November) services across TuVida celebrated Carers Rights Day with a number of events for unpaid carers. This year the theme was recognising your rights. To learn more about Carers Rights Day please click here. Vale Unpaid Carers Hub The Vale team attended an event at Penarth Leisure Centre which welcomed both adult and young carers. Young carers came from Radyr Comprehensive and took part in activities relating to Carers Rights Day and support that can be accessed across Cardiff & the Vale of Glamorgan. Providers of Short Breaks were also in attendance on the day! Young Carers Notts We had two youth groups running on Carers Rights Day in both County and City locations. In our Bilborough Youth Group our young carers enjoyed doing some arts and crafts, playing games and making chocolate covered apples! (Goodie bags also went down a storm) In our Mansfield group there was some Christmas decoration making, some dance moves perfected and Winter Wellbeing bags given out. Staff from Nottinghamshire Carers Association, Nottinghamshire County Council, Nottingham City Council and TuVida met at the Young Carers Notts hub in Mansfield on Wednesday 20th November to discuss the impact of the Young Carers Notts service. Herefordshire Carer Links Our Herefordshire team attended an event that took place at The Kindle Centre in Hereford. It was a great day with lots of information available for local unpaid carers! Bridgend Carers Wellbeing In Bridgend the team attended a few events to celebrate Carers Rights Day across the local area. We have a few images from the event at Pyle Halo Leisure Centre where our team were on hand to provide carers with information and support.
