Services from across TuVida celebrated Carers Week (5-11 June) with a range of events and activities. Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. Find out more about Carers Week

Bridgend Carers Wellbeing Event

Our Bridgend Carers Wellbeing Service hosted a carers wellbeing event on Tuesday 6 June at Bridgend Indoor Bowls Club with a whole range of organisations in attendance, including Carers Wales, Alzheimers Society and Samaritans. We were delighted to welcome Cllr Huw David, Leader of Bridgend Council, and Catrin Edwards, Carers Trust Wales Head of External Affairs, along to help launch the service.

Essex

Our Essex team delivered special carers hampers and TuVida mugs to people using the service. Mr Balakrishnan (right photo) said: “This is wonderful! Just what the doctor ordered following my recent operation."

Herefordshire Hub

In Herefordshire, our CarerLinks Herefordshire Hub hosted a special carers afternoon tea event, a drop-in at Hereford Hospital along with providing carers survival packs. The team also worked with the local authority young carers team to provide £400 of cinema tickets for young and young adult carers in the local area.

Nottinghamshire Carers Hub Open Afternoon

Our Nottinghamshire Carers Hub hosted an Open Afternoon on Friday 9 June at the new office in Mansfield for people to find out more about the support on offer. The hub also hosted a wider range of events for carers through the week including a visit from Reggie the Therapy Dog, a Guided Nature Walk at Netherfield Lagoons and Young Carers Go-Karting.

West Sussex

And in West Sussex, the team hosted a carers coffee morning on Thursday 8 June, followed by the always well attended Roffey Park weekend break for carers and their loved ones.
